North West – Fire & Security Designer / Estimator
Location: North West
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + company car + excellent benefits
NPG Fire Safety Ltd is seeking a skilled Fire & Security Designer / Estimator to support our continued growth across the North West and beyond.

- BAFE SP203-1 – Design, Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance of Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
- BAFE SP203-4 – Design, Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance of Emergency Lighting Systems
- BAFE SP101 – Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers
- NSI Gold – Fire
- NACOSS Gold – Electronic Security Systems (CCTV, Access Control & Intruder Alarms)
- NAPIT – Electrical

Key responsibilities:
- Produce accurate and compliant fire and security system designs and estimates, aligned with relevant British Standards and project requirements
- Prepare clear technical and commercial documentation, including drawings, specifications, and quotations
- Provide technical input and support to engineers to ensure smooth project delivery and consistency with design specifications
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineers throughout project delivery
- Ensure timely delivery of estimates and proposals to support client requirements and deadlines
- Collaborate with engineers, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth project handover and delivery
- Utilise design and estimating software effectively (Uptick experience preferred)
- Maintain high levels of technical accuracy and commercial awareness across all designs and submissions
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent technical knowledge of relevant British Standards for fire and security systems
- Relevant qualifications (FIA Advanced Designer preferred)
- Proven ability to deliver accurate estimates within agreed timeframes
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, engineers, and suppliers
- Proficiency in design and estimating software (Uptick experience desirable)
- Ideally based in Cumbria or Lancashire, though Manchester and further afield may be considered, with a willingness to travel
- Remote working may be considered for the right candidate
- Full UK driving licence and the unrestricted right to work in the UK
