Fire Risk Assessor

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Location: London


Overview

A leading higher-education organisation is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to support fire safety across a large and diverse estate. This role focuses on delivering compliant fire risk assessments and providing expert guidance to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and review Fire Risk Assessments in line with PAS 79/BS 9792
  • Provide clear, practical fire safety advice in line with UK legislation and BS 9999 principles
  • Conduct fire safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Support projects, refurbishments, and operational activities from a fire safety perspective
  • Assist with emergency planning, fire drills, and incident investigations
  • Promote a strong and proactive fire safety culture across the estate


Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification or NEBOSH Fire Safety (with relevant experience)
  • Experience delivering PAS 79-compliant Fire Risk Assessments
  • Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation
  • Ability to interpret building drawings and layouts
  • Experience providing fire safety advice and training


Desirable:

  • Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification
  • Membership of a recognised Fire Risk Assessor register
