Role TheFixed Income business has expandedintomore esoteric tradesspecifically with complex funding structures spanning several entities.Theproduct set includes, but not limited to,Structured Bonds/Loans,Jefferies Issued Debt,Cash Bonds, Repos, Interest Rate Derivatives, Inflation Swaps, CDS, Caps & Floors, Swaptions, NDF’s and Futures (Currency, IR,Bondand Options). The candidate willbe requiredto understand the booking flowand associated technical accounting implicationsacrossdifferententities with differentGaapAccountingscenarios.The funding ofthese transactionis non-standard so the candidate willbe requiredto amalgamate allelements of the deal.Many of these structures are booked throughSPV’sand the candidateis required toaccount,eliminate,andconsolidatedthese into the Jefferies Internationalentity. There is direct interaction with the trading desk, business management, new businessteamanda range of Operation functions, such as Middle Office,Settlementsand Corporate Actions. The role offers a candidatethe opportunityto be involved inan exciting and complexbusiness area. Itis imperative to build relationships withdeskfromday1to understandthese structures to articulatethesetoseniorfinancemanagement.Trackingthese various dealsthrough the trade lifecycleandbuilding upon control environment will be crucial to success. Flash v Actual Analysis Accounting forFeeRevenues and Expenses P&L Commentaries FOBO review Inventory Reporting T0 Reporting Clean P&L
Weekly Commentary analysis for Financial Reporting Month End work including:
Balance Sheet substantiation Reconciliation of reported P&L to ledger Review of andassistancein IPV process Management Packs for deals and associated P&L P&L and inventory movement commentaries
Additionalresponsibilities
Active involvement in enhancements and development of process/system flows to ease automation of P&L production Ad hoc management reporting Assistin building out processes for new products setsor system implementation that may arise
Person Specification
Prior Experience in Structured Products Qualified Accountant Knowledge of reserving methodologies/valuation adjustments Able to work autonomously Usesinitiative toidentifyissues and implement solutions Advancedexcel knowledge Strong teamplayer Ability to train and upskill the widerteam Able to prioritise workload to achieve daily targets Able to multitask toanswerdeskand managementrequests ona timelybasis Be proud of the work he/she produces and not turn a “blind eye” to problems Ability to automate and rationaliseprocessesas necessary
