ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

A leading, founder-led investment management firm specialising in insurance-focused strategies, with a global presence and offices in major financial hubs. The firm manages multi-billion-dollar assets across catastrophe bonds and other insurance-linked securities.

THE ROLE

A leading investment manager is seeking an Fixed Income Settlements Analyst with a strong background in investment operations on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is based in London and will support key operational functions as outlined below.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Process investment transactions accurately and efficiently, including trade capture, confirmation, and settlement
  2. Liaise with front office, dealers, custodians, and counterparties to process security settlements
  3. Investigate and follow up on outstanding trade confirmations and failed trades
  4. Perform daily reconciliations of investment records against custodian and counterparty statements, resolving discrepancies
  5. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk
  6. Ensure all transactions comply with relevant regulations and internal policies
  7. Maintain and update internal and external systems with investment and product reference data
  8. Support product lifecycle events such as onboarding of new funds, restructurings, and liquidations
  9. Assist with testing and implementation of new systems and enhancements
  10. Handle ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders
  11. Communicate effectively with portfolio managers, traders, custodians, and other departments

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. University degree (BA equivalent) and/or 2–5 years of relevant experience in Operations/Middle Office within the investment management industry
  2. Strong understanding of financial instruments (fixed income)
  3. Comprehensive trade settlements knowledge; experience with Omgeo CTM and Alert is an advantage
  4. Process-oriented with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  5. Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
