The Flame Cutting Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating cutting equipment to shape, slice, and prepare materialstypically metalsusing an oxy-fuel or plasma cutting process. This role requires knowledge of blueprint reading, safety standards, and the ability to inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality. Key Responsibilities : Set up and operate flame cutting equipment to cut and shape metal materials as per specifications.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or work orders to determine cutting specifications.
Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure they meet quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on flame cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor cutting process for efficiency and safety, making adjustments as necessary.
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material usage and machine settings.
Ensure clean and organized work areas, adhering to safety and environmental standards.
