Due to continued growth, Facilities by ADF plc are looking to expand their Fleet Management Team.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Maintenance Manager to join the team.

Location:  Longcross, Surrey

Salary: Attractive salary + benefits package

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, making a 45-hour week inclusive of a one-hour lunch break     Reporting to: Head of Fleet

Fleet Maintenance Manager - The Role:

Based in our depot in Longcross, Surrey and reporting to the Head of Fleet, the successful candidate will play a key role in the management control of both external service providers, inhouse workshop & mobile technicians – being an integral member of the Fleet Maintenance and wider Fleet Management team.

Fleet Maintenance Manager – Key Responsibilities:

- Maintenance Oversight: Manage both internal workshop operations and external service providers, ensuring legal compliance in servicing, repairs, MOTs, and tachograph requirements

- Budget Management: Contribute to fleet maintenance budgets, control expenditure, audit tyre casing bank, and monitor SMR costs (pence/km) by vehicle and type

- Performance Reviews: Conduct quarterly supplier reviews, random invoice audits, annual supplier audits, and fleet personnel performance appraisals

- Work Allocation: Plan, allocate, and manage tasks for internal and mobile technicians while reviewing workshop performance and task completion times

- Damage Recovery: Provide estimates/invoicing for internal/external driver negligence or third-party client misuse

- Stock Management: Oversee impress stock holdings, verify supplier invoices, and liaise with the Supply Chain Manager for stock adjustments

- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, conduct audits, develop procedures, and investigate incidents or near-misses

- Reporting: Compile regular reports, including vehicle downtime analysis, parts spend, and fleet data analytics

- Client Satisfaction: Maintain high levels of service for internal/external clients and support the accounts and operations teams as required

- Continuous Improvement: Attend meetings and drive compliance, operational solutions, and improvement strategies aligned with company goals

Fleet Maintenance Manager - Essential requirements:

- Strong Management skills and experience of leading static and mobile teams

- Ability to Coach and Mentor and develop staff where appropriate

- Leads and motivates staff through positive employee engagement through opencommunication

- Defines the strategy to develop the operation as a whole by identifying and sharing continual best practice protocols

- Flexible in working hours and to be available for ‘out of hours’ contact / communication

- Good analytical, budget management and numerical skills

- Good knowledge of Microsoft / Excel applications

Maintains own level of competence

Experience of providing exceptional customer service

Desirable:

- Knowledge of H&S Workshop Regulations

- Fleet Workshop Management Experience

- Knowledge of Operator Licence Regulations

- Experience of Fleet compliance and maintenance systems

- SOE / IRTE Membership
