Fleet Manager - Groundcare Hire Machinery
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Hire Fleet Manager to lead and develop a growing Groundcare hire operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong operational knowledge, sales ability, and a passion for machinery to take ownership of a hire fleet and drive performance.
You will be responsible for managing and growing the hire business, increasing market share, and ensuring the fleet is maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the Groundcare hire fleet, ensuring accurate tracking of all equipment
Maintain detailed service and maintenance records
Work closely with internal teams to ensure all equipment is prepared and maintained
Install and demonstrate machines to customers when required
Support the disposal and replacement of fleet assets
Prepare budgets and control fleet-related costs
Drive hire sales, achieve targets, and maximise revenue opportunities
Upsell services and negotiate hire rates effectively
Build new customer relationships and grow existing accounts
Take bookings and manage customer enquiries
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
Support marketing activity to keep hire materials up to date
Produce performance reports and maintain accurate records
Skills & Experience Required
Strong knowledge of Groundcare equipment and the industry
Proven sales experience with a target-driven mindset
Commercially aware with good negotiation skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Confident using IT systems and reporting tools
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Professional and customer-focused approach
Full driving licence
Good level of general fitness
