Job Description

A highly regarded, boutique law firm in Central London is seeking an experienced and adaptable Float Legal Secretary to join its established Business Services team.


You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support across multiple departments, stepping in at short notice to cover absences and provide additional assistance where required.

The Role

  • Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments
  • Maintaining and organising both physical and electronic filing systems
  • Assisting with case management systems, conflict checks, and billing processes
  • Providing administrative support including scanning, printing, and document binding
  • Acting as a reliable point of support during busy periods, holidays, and absences


Key skills and attributes include:

  • You will be an experienced Legal Secretary with strong Family Law experience and the ability to integrate seamlessly into new teams.
  • You must have prior experience working for a London-based law firm
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional, discreet, and confident handling sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 65 wpm)
  • Experience with legal systems such as SOS Connect, BigHand/Diktamen, Nuance/Kofax, and iManage would be advantageous, though training will be provided.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
