Job Summary We are seeking a skilled FLT Counterbalance Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team, The FLT role forms part of the job and you will be required to work on the factory floor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a counterbalance forklift to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This role is crucial in ensuring that shipping and receiving operations run smoothly, contributing to overall warehouse productivity.
Responsibilities
Operate counterbalance forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
Move products throughout the warehouse using appropriate materials handling techniques.
Ensure accurate shipping and receiving of goods, maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of forklift equipment and perform basic maintenance as needed.
Assist in inventory management by accurately tracking stock levels using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Collaborate with team members to maintain an organised and clean work environment.
Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Skills
Proven experience in a warehouse environment, particularly in shipping and receiving operations.
Strong knowledge of materials handling procedures and safety protocols.
Basic maths skills for inventory tracking and order processing.
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is advantageous.
Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks performed.
