*.Please note this bonus is pro rata for part time positions.About the roleThe University Hospitality Department provides catering services to students, staff, and external visitors throughout the academic year and into the summer months.
There are numerous outlets run by the hospitality department offering a wide range of food and drink options. We are currently seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant who can be flexible to work a variety of shifts (including weekday lunchtimes, evenings and weekends).
This permanent post is with West Hospitality’s Food Direct team.
In this varied and active role, you will help deliver catering for meetings and events across the University.
You will also support the operation of a small café.

What you’ll be doingDelivering catering to meetings and events across campusAssisting with food and drink service at events across campusAssisting with the day‑to‑day running of a small caféTaking customer orders and serving food and drinkOperating tills and handling paymentsStocking food stations and replenishing suppliesMaintaining high standards of cleanliness, including clearing tables and keeping catering areas tidyTraining and uniforms are provided, and there are opportunities for development and progression within the department.Full details of the role can be found in the job description.Working pattern for the roleAll shifts are straight shifts—there are no split shifts.
The role includes five 5-hour shifts, which vary according to the business needs, so we are seeking applicants who can be flexible.
Shifts include early morning, lunch periods and evenings both Monday-Friday and at the weekend, on a 5 out of 7 days rota.
This permanent contract is 25 hours per week, 52 weeks of the year.About youYou bring strong customer‑service experience and take pride in delivering an excellent standard of support in a customer‑focused environment.Experience in the hospitality industry is desirable.You work confidently as part of a team and remain calm, professional and organised during busy, intense periods.You are reliable, adaptable and able to work daytime shifts, particularly during weekday lunchtime hours, to meet the needs of the business.Further InformationFor an informal discussion about the role please contact Sarah Stevens, Deputy Hospitality Operations Manager on , however please ensure that you submit your application through the university website.Campus Services New Starter bonus
