About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technician to join our supportive secondary school in DA18. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and has a passion for food preparation and education.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both the practical and educational aspects of food technology, helping students develop essential life skills in a safe, structured, and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare, cook, and serve food in line with food hygiene and safety standards

* Manage food supplies, ordering, storage, and stock control

* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen and food technology area

* Lead and support food technology lessons, adapting activities to meet the needs of students

* Support students to develop practical cooking skills, confidence, and independence

* Ensure all health and safety, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

About You

* Experience in food preparation, catering, or food technology (school-based experience desirable but not essential)

* A good understanding of food hygiene and safety (relevant qualifications an advantage)
