As part of the Cyber and Fraud Unit team within the Specialist Crime Division and as a Forensic Computer Analyst you can make a real difference by supporting the provision ofDigital Forensics to our officers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
To ensure that acquired data from digital devices are done so in a forensically sound manner which requires an expert knowledge of computer hardware, an understanding of Operating Systems and an awareness of data integrity to ensure that activities are conducted in accordance with Police Scotlands Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System documentation in order to support and demonstrate compliance with National/International regulatory standards.
The forensic examination of computer systems, mobile telephones and other microprocessor-based devices in connection with criminal enquiries and in accordance with Police Scotland policies, procedures and National/International regulatory standards.
To forensically image and examine digital media in accordance with recommended principles, to ensure continuity of evidence.
