bMindful Psychology are currently recruiting a innovative HCPC registered Psychologist based in Yorkshire and Humberside to deliver, training, consultation and direct work with children, young people and their carers.
Job Summary
You will work with providers of care for Looked After Children and Young People to provide detailed assessments and formulations which inform therapeutic care and risk management. Support and advice is offered to the staff teams with a view to developing an understanding within the teams of the impact of developmental trauma, how this translates into behaviour and how to work therapeutically with this group. You will support and advise the teams across the region using your psychological expertise. You will also support the delivery of tailored therapeutic training to upskill care staff. Full training in regard to our courses and delivery will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting psychological assessments to understand behavioural, emotional, and cognitive needs.
Developing and delivering tailored interventions to support young people in care, including trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
Providing consultation and support to social workers, foster carers, and residential care staff.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create holistic care and risk management plans.
Delivering training and workshops to professionals working with CLA to enhance their understanding of trauma, attachment, and offending behaviour.
Preparing detailed psychological reports for use in care planning and court settings.
Contributing to service development and ensuring interventions align with the latest evidence-based practices

Qualifications and Skills
Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
Experienced in working with children and young people, particularly those in care or at risk of offending.
Knowledgeable about trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and behavioural interventions.
Skilled in conducting risk assessments and developing intervention plans.
A confident communicator, able to work effectively with young people, families, and professionals.
