We are currently recruiting for a Forklift Battery Engineer to cover Reading and surrounding areas. This is a field-based role with no call-out requirements, offering autonomy and flexibility for the right candidate.
\n
Location: Reading and Surrounding Areas
Hours: Monday - Friday (8-hour shifts)
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 per annum (DOE) + Company Van, Equipment, Overtime & Benefits
Contract: Permanent

Duties:
\n
\n
Service, maintain, and repair forklift battery systems on customer sites
\n
Carry out routine battery maintenance including topping, cleaning, and inspections
\n
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on batteries and chargers
\n
Liaise with customers and provide a high level of service and communication
\n
Complete job sheets and service reports accurately and on time
\n
Prepare and transport equipment safely between sites
\n
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
\n
Work closely with the service department to plan and prioritise workload
\n
Provide support for additional cover when required
\n
\n
The Ideal Candidate Must:
\n
\n
Have strong electrical knowledge and experience working with forklift batteries (charger repair desirable)
\n
Hold a full UK Driving Licence (company van provided)
\n
Be confident, professional, and well-organised
\n
Have excellent communication and customer service skills
\n
Be able to work independently and manage their own workload
\n
Be diligent, reliable, and capable of working under pressure
\n
Have experience within an MHE or materials handling environment (desirable but not essential)
\n
Be IT literate and comfortable completing documentation and reports
\n
