About the Role

We are hiring on behalf of a UK-based, venture-backed AI startup client building AI voice receptionists for home services businesses. This is the final founding engineer hire, offering real ownership over product and technical direction from day one.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship core AI product features end-to-end.
• Work primarily in Python across backend, infrastructure, and integrations.
• Collaborate directly with customers to deliver real-world outcomes.
• Balance speed and scalability in a fast-moving startup environment.

Tech Stack

• Python (FastAPI), Postgres
• TypeScript, Next.js
• GCP, Kubernetes
• LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini), Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech

Requirements

• 5–10 years of backend-leaning engineering experience.
• Strong Python experience.
• Some experience with LLMs or AI products.
• Early-stage startup experience strongly preferred.
• Having worked with customers is a plus.
• A founder- or founding-engineer mindset is a plus.
• Able to work 5 days/week on-site in London.

Compensation

• £100,000 – £250,00 base salary.
• Meaningful equity.
• Visa sponsorship available.
