Harmonic are proud to be partnering with a well-regarded consumer brand in their search for an ambitious FP&A Analyst to become the "right hand" to an experienced Finance Director with clear progression to the FP&A Manager level.


The Client


Our client is a distinctive, retail SME disrupting its industry through original design, strong commercial discipline, and a highly data-driven approach to growth. Operating with a lean team, the business has built a scalable model. This role has been created to strengthen financial planning and commercial decision making as the business enters its next phase of expansion.


You'll join a tight-knit team, where finance sits at the forefront of the business. The senior leadership team consists of a high calibre group of entrepreneurs, reframing the industry they operate in. They're a personable team, looking for an energetic and ambitious commercial finance professional, offering excellent benefits and flexible working options.


The Role


Working closely with the Finance Director, you'll sit at the centre of performance, profitability, and strategic planning. With a complex, inventory-driven operating model, the business places strong emphasis on cash, margins, and data visibility. This creates a great opportunity for an analytically minded finance professional to influence real commercial outcomes from day one.


The role offers clear progression as the business continues to scale, with increasing responsibility across planning, automation, and business partnering. They are looking for an ambitious individual, keen to pursue a career in commercial finance.


Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the three-statement model, ensuring visibility across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
  • Finance business partner across C-Suite, Operations, and Data teams
  • Manage and refine the rolling cash forecast to support strategic decision making
  • Lead the budgeting and reforecasting process, contributing to longer-term strategic and financial planning
  • Analyse profitability and trading performance, using scenario modelling and analysis to guide decisions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify margin improvement and cost optimisation opportunities
  • Deliver monthly variance analysis across key drivers including volume, price, and mix
  • Build and improve automated reporting and dashboards to enhance financial visibility and efficiency
  • Support evaluation of new initiatives, investments, and growth opportunities through business case analysis
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities, providing actionable insight to support strong commercial


What our client needs to see (essential):

  • 1-3 years of experience in a Junior FP&A or Commercial Analyst role
  • Has started ACCA or CIMA studies, with intention of completion
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • An eagerness to pursue a career in commercial finance and FP&A


What we'd like to see (non-essential):

  • Experience in product-focused sectors (retail, consumer, fashion, ecommerce, FMCG, furniture, food and beverages, stock, hospitality)
  • Experience in an SME environment
  • Exposure to BI tools, AI, and financial automation
  • Confident communicator who enjoys working with senior / non-finance stakeholders


Location: London / Hybrid (very flexible hybrid working model)

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 + bonus + benefits

Start Date: Flexible
