About The Role
Here at Harding+, we are currently recruiting for an FP&A Manager to join our team, this is an exciting and challenging role with a broad remit across all FP&A activities within the business. The key elements of the role encompass:
Planning: ownership and development of financial models to enable rigorous business planning and decision making
Reporting: production of and supporting in development & automation of executive and commercial reporting
Analysis: provision of robust financial analysis to support business initiatives and opportunities, together with providing robust challenge through a business partnering approach
Based in Avonmouth on a hybrid working basis – 2/3 days per week
Compensation – competitive salary, bonus scheme, pension, 4 x life assurance, healthcare cash plan, 26 days annual leave (plus the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days)
What You Will Be Doing
Annual budget / 5-year business plan / quarterly reforecasting:
- Full ownership of input assumptions, models and output for P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Working with stakeholders across the business to agree assumptions, providing robust challenge and analysis where required
- Periodic review of actual performance versus budget/5-year plan/forecast to analyse variances and update assumptions in models where applicable
- Support Commercial Finance Director in developing best practice models and reporting for all planning and forecasting activities and seek to continually improve processes and output through our FP&A software (Vena)
- Support Commercial Finance Director with ad hoc forecasting and planning for key strategic and tactical initiatives
- Ownership of weekly Executive Board reporting pack
- Ownership of FP&A contributions to monthly management accounts reporting pack
- Support Commercial Finance Director in ongoing development and improving analytical content of weekly and monthly Board reporting
- Cruise line reporting – creation of packs for both internal and external monthly/quarterly reviews/quarterly true-ups
- Ownership of investment appraisal models for new business opportunities, including capital expenditure
- Implement process for post-investment appraisal analysis / tracking
- Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with senior managers and their teams to enable robust challenge of performance
- Build out existing reporting suite and improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance
- Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies
- Providing effective commercial process, or initiating change, to ensure key commercial and financial targets are delivered
- Line management, coaching and development of 3 direct reports
- Significant experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
- ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience in a similar FP&A/commercial role
- Advanced Excel skills; comfortable with handling very large data sets
- Excellent attention to detail whilst maintaining the ability to step back and see the bigger picture
- Inquisitive and challenging mindset; a curiosity to understand more and constantly question the status quo
- Energetic and keen to identify how we can be doing things better or adding value
- Proactive, able to plan and manage own workload whilst achieving tight deadlines
- Ability to work and communicate with non-financial executives and managers
