My Client is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee daily site operations on a project in Essex. The ideal candidate will ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards. This role is hands-on and requires strong communication, leadership, and organisational abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management
Supervise day-to-day operations on site, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and labour resources.
Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks.
Maintain a visible presence on site to monitor progress and compliance.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Enforce site safety rules and promote a strong safety culture.
Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
Report incidents, near misses, and non-compliance in line with company procedures.
Ensure all personnel follow site inductions and safety protocols.
Quality & Programme
Monitor work against project plans, schedules, and specifications.
Identify and escalate any issues affecting quality or timelines.
Assist with quality checks and sign-offs for completed works.
Communication & Coordination
Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Maintain accurate site records, including logs, diaries, and reports.
Attend progress meetings as required.
Essential Requirements
SSSTS certification (minimum).
Proven experience supervising construction or related site activities.
Strong knowledge of health & safety procedures (e.g., CDM regulations).
Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with teams, clients, and management.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
CSCS Supervisor/Gold Card (or equivalent).
First Aid at Work.
SMSTS (advantageous but not required).
Experience within (e.g., civils, housing, fit‑out, M&E — can be tailored).
