A well-established design studio based in Central London is currently seeking an experienced Freelance Technical Designer (Midweight–Senior Level) to join the team on a full-time, in-office basis.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating design concepts into comprehensive technical drawing and tender packages. Working closely with design, production, and project teams, they will ensure all documentation is accurate, coordinated, and build-ready.

The role requires someone confident working independently — capable of taking ownership of projects and producing all necessary technical drawings and documentation with minimal supervision.

This is a full-time, office-based freelance position located in Central London, with an immediate start, offered on a rolling contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed, coordinated technical drawing packages using AutoCAD (essential)
• Independently prepare and issue comprehensive tender packages, including drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Take ownership of drawing production from concept through to construction issue
• Ensure all drawings are fully resolved, accurate, and aligned with design intent
• Prepare and refine visual and presentation materials using Adobe Photoshop
• Liaise with designers and project managers throughout tender and construction stages
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and project requirements

Required Experience & Skills:

• Midweight to Senior level experience in technical design (minimum 4–6+ years preferred)
• Proven experience producing full technical drawing packages and tender documentation
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver complete drawing sets
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and build processes
• Hospitality project experience is highly desirable
• Strong coordination and communication skills
• Highly organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Comfortable working full-time on-site within a collaborative studio environment

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00am – 6:00pm
• 1-hour lunch break
