About the role
You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional handling of freight traffic through the terminal. Working in a fast-paced port environment, you will support vessel operations, deliver excellent customer service, and ensure all freight movements are accurately processed in line with operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
You will be responsible for
Carry out freight vehicle check-in at the terminal using Phoenix and Hazcheck systems, ensuring all movements are accurately recorded.
Process freight ticket sales and payments via credit card, maintaining high levels of customer service and accuracy.
Support vessel loading and discharge operations, communicating effectively with operational teams using hand-held UHF radios.
Verify and monitor pre-advised hazardous cargo within Hazcheck, ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Provide service updates to customers and liaise with relevant authorities and government agencies as directed by the Duty Manager or Duty Supervisor.
About you
You are a highly customer-focused individual who takes pride in always delivering a professional and efficient service. As a representative of DFDS, you understand the importance of presenting yourself in a smart and professional manner, acting as a positive ambassador for the business.
With excellent communication skills, you are confident engaging with drivers, customers, colleagues, and external agencies in a clear and courteous way. You are well organised, able to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy operational environment, and comfortable using computer systems to process information accurately. Self-motivated and proactive, you can work on your own initiative while also contributing positively as part of a wider team.
