Fixed Term Specialty Training Post (FTSA) – Neurology, Registrar Level (STRL)

A vacancy has arisen for a Fixed Term Specialty Training post (FTSA) in Neurology at Registrar level (STRL) within the Neurology department based at the University Hospital of Wales. The post is for a 3-month fixed term period (6th May 2026 to 4th August 2026).

The successful candidate will receive training at a tertiary neuroscience centre working on the neurology ward and the neurology day unit. The department also includes a neurosciences research unit and an epilepsy video‑telemetry suite. There will be exposure to a range of acute and long‑term neurological conditions while being fully supported by an appropriate senior team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist care to neurological patients at the University Hospital of Wales.
• Provide ward cover Monday to Friday, 9‑5.
• Support the Neurological Day Unit to ensure patients are consented and receive their regular treatments.
• Manage ward referrals and attend Outpatient clinics with consultants.
• Participate in teaching, research and audit projects.
