As a chapter lead, you'll focus on 'How' we work rather than the 'What' we deliver. You'll lead, inspire, and motivate your team to excel, ensuring colleagues are assigned to the right squads to deliver great outcomes for customers and drive satisfaction. As a servant leader, you'll support your team’s development, foster a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation, and be an influential member of Tesco Mobile's leadership community. You will also be hands-on, practicing your craft as a squad member, focusing on 'What' we deliver, and serving as an expert across the business.

Responsibilities include:

• Being an active squad member, contributing expertise to deliver outcomes
• Identifying and resolving impediments to drive value
• Defining standards, methodologies, tooling, and practices
• Developing a mastery framework for personal and team development
• Supporting colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and training
• Fostering a community for knowledge sharing and transparency
• Guiding and inspiring the business with your craft expertise
• Managing colleague lifecycle activities such as recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations
• Creating an inclusive culture aligned with our 'We're unique together' values
• Allocating colleagues to squads based on skills and development needs
• Contributing to and executing the chapter vision and strategy
• Driving outcomes aligned with business strategy

As a squad member, your responsibilities include:

• Maintaining high code quality through reviews and best practices
• Collaborating to deliver scalable, secure applications
• Supporting platform and application transformation strategies
• Implementing coding standards and design patterns
• Working with Cyber Security to ensure protection
• Driving continuous improvement in CI/CD and automation
• Diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges

Required technical experience:

• Extensive experience with Python and Django backend solutions
• Proficiency in Java applications and frameworks
• Experience with Golang is preferable
• Expertise in JavaScript and Angular for frontend development
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
• Experience with AWS services like DynamoDB, SNS
• Proficiency with Redis and RabbitMQ
• Database management and optimization skills
• Experience with RESTful APIs
