Full-Time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Dumfriesshire

We are a 22-vet independent mixed practice seeking a full-time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team in Dumfriesshire.

Our main branches are based in Lockerbie and Dumfries, with additional satellite clinics in Moffat, Langholm and Annan. Our team includes a combination of experienced vets and newer graduates, working across small animal, farm and equine disciplines.

The position offers a 4.5-day working week, participation in our own on-call rota (one weeknight per week and one in five weekends, with a full lieu day following a weekend on call), and one in ten Saturday mornings. A minimum of three vets are on call at any time, with weekend nurse support.

We are well equipped with digital and dental radiography, flexible and rigid endoscopy, tonometry, in-house laboratory facilities and recently updated ultrasound machines, which includes probes for echocardiography.  There is support for developing clinical interests, and several members of the team hold or are undertaking postgraduate certificates and diplomas across varies species. 

The package includes private healthcare and five days of CPD per year. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.

Conveniently located just off the M74, we are within easy reach of Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Lake District by rail or road.
