Gas Safe Plumber /Mechanical Engineer

Experienced Heating Engineer/ Gas Safe Plumber responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing and heating systems to keep facilities safe, compliant, and fully operational. Skilled in diagnosing faults, carrying out preventative maintenance, and responding to emergencies to minimise disruption. Confident, working independently, managing workload effectively, and meeting tight deadlines.
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Salary: £44,000-£47,000 Hours: Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:00 Holiday: 28 days + 7 bank holidays
Key Skills & Responsibilities
Maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing and heating systems Servicing gas and oil boilers; clearing drains; fixing leaks and faults Conducting inspections, compliance checks, and completing safety documentation Responding to urgent plumbing issues and out of hours emergencies Maintaining accurate records, stock levels, and compliance logs Working safely in confined spaces and at height Collaborating with facilities staff and contractors; supporting general maintenance Reducing energy waste and promoting safe, efficient site operationsQualifications & Skills
OFTEC qualified; Gas Safe/LPG desirable (training available) Strong plumbing experience, ideally in a school or similar environment Knowledge of building regulations, safety procedures, and compliance Excellent time management, problem-solving, and IT skills Ability to manage physical tasks and work flexiblyAdditional
