General Building Engineer Taskmaster Resources are looking for a General Building Engineer to work on-site in HMP Gartree ( Market Harborough LE16 ).
Working hours: The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place). There is a need to work 1 in 3 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary). Pay rate: £20.00-£25.00PH
The General Building Engineer plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
Duties: Ensuring availability of critical parts for statutory tasks and managing remedial tasks in the CAFM system. Performing general and semi-skilled maintenance activities, including security systems like CCTV and alarms. Conducting monthly checks and tests of fire extinguisher equipment, fire hydrants, and hoses. Completing quarterly RCD testing and inspect Misting Units. Maintaining fire doors and performing flushing and tap temperature tests as per water risk assessments. Undertaking monthly and annual emergency lighting checks. Checking and testing smoke vents as required. Carrying out any other duties as required Skills and experience:
