Your new company As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support operatives. Hays is seeking to recruit a General Building Operative for HMP Holme House. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the prison service and can often lead to permanent opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: Provide support to the prison maintenance team across a range of tasks, including reactive repairs and damage restoration. Carry out basic joinery work as required. Perform minor plumbing tasks, such as unblocking toilets. Undertake simple electrical duties, including replacing light bulbs. Conduct routine fire alarm testing to ensure compliance and safety. Assist with waste management and disposal activities. Support ground maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment. Carry out general labouring duties as needed. Complete painting and decorating work to maintain facility standards. Assist with tiling and other minor repair projects.

What you'll need to succeed Experience of painting and tiling is desirable. You must be able to pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS (if required).
