Job Title: General Counsel – Real Estate Advisory

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join an expanding real estate advisory business with a rapidly growing presence in London and New York. The firm is on a clear mission to become a global leader in real estate debt advisory, working with institutional investors, developers, and lenders across major markets.

This is a key leadership role, acting as the senior legal advisor across advisory, structuring, and transactional activities within a fast-scaling international platform.

You will receive direct involvement in building a market-leading global debt advisory business, as well as cross-border exposure across London and New York offices. This is a high-impact role with significant strategic influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all legal matters across the firm’s real estate debt advisory and capital markets activities
• Provide strategic legal guidance on complex cross-border real estate finance transactions
• Support structuring and execution of debt advisory mandates across UK, US, and European markets
• Oversee legal risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance
• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documentation and client agreements
• Partner closely with senior leadership in London and New York on strategic initiatives
• Manage external counsel relationships across jurisdictions
• Contribute to the firm’s growth strategy and institutional build-out

Essential

• Qualified solicitor (UK and/or US qualified preferred) with significant post-qualification experience
• Strong background in real estate finance, structured finance, or investment banking legal work
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Proven experience advising senior stakeholders in financial services or advisory firms

Desirable

• Experience working across cross-border transactions (UK/US exposure highly desirable)
• Deep understanding of real estate debt markets and advisory structures
