What we need A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced General Foreman to support the delivery of highways and infrastructure projects in the Oxfordshire area. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with a strong pipeline of work.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage site teams including Engineers and ForemenEnsure full compliance with Health & Safety standards and promote a positive safety cultureOversee day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budgetManage subcontractors and coordinate site activitiesLiaise with clients, designers, and key stakeholdersMonitor progress, attend meetings, and produce reportsEnsure quality and environmental standards are maintainedIdentify and implement improvements and efficiencies on siteControl costs and ensure works meet specification requirementsAbout YouProven experience in a General Foreman role within civil engineering (ideally highways/public realm)Strong leadership and organisational skillsSolid understanding of construction processes, plant, and site safetyAbility to interpret drawings and technical informationEffective communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholdersRelevant construction or site management qualifications (desirable)Key RequirementsValid CSCS (or equivalent)Strong Health & Safety knowledge and experienceExperience working on highways or infrastructure projectsWhat We're Looking ForStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilityAbility to build relationships and influence teams and stakeholdersSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyA collaborative team player with a proactive approachWell organised with strong planning and prioritisation skillsAdaptable and focused on delivering resultsJBRP1_UKTJ
