General Foreman – Highways – Permanent
Liverpool £55,000 – £60,000 + package Long-term local highways framework
A leading main civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced General Foreman to work on a long-term highways framework across the Liverpool area.
This is a permanent role offering stability, local work, and consistent project delivery — ideal for a Foreman looking to stay close to home while working on meaningful schemes.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of highways works on projects typically valued between £5m – £50m, including:
* Supervising site teams and subcontractors
* Coordinating daily activities to programme
* Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
* Managing RAMS, permits, and site paperwork
* Liaising with Site Management and Engineers
* Maintaining high standards of HSEQ compliance
Project Scope
* Highways & infrastructure works
* Drainage (deep & shallow)
* Kerbing, surfacing & reinstatement
* Section delivery within live environments
About You
* 8+ years’ experience delivering highways projects
* Strong background in drainage, kerbing & surfacing
* Proven experience operating as a General Foreman on civil engineering schemes
* Comfortable managing gangs, subcontractors & programme pressures

* First Aid
* CSCS
