Tucked away on Fish Island, INIS is an Irish influenced neighbourhood restaurant that truly cares about its community and the wonderful people that grace our doors.
Daytimes are relaxed and familiar, but come evenings and weekends, we shift into something more refinedthoughtful service, great food, and a sharper edge.
INIS (meaning Island in Irish) was created out of a love of the local area and the community within it. Set on the canal towpath we serve a seasonal menu of Irish and British food celebrating produce, provenance and simplicity. Cocktails, wine and coffee. Everyone welcome!
Were now on the hunt for a General Manager to take the reinssomeone who loves hospitality, thrives on building teams, and understands how to balance warm, informal charm with high standards. Not just someone who can run a tight ship (though that matters), but someone who brings energy into a room, knows their team inside out, and leads from the floornot the office.
To make that work, we need someone who can hold both sides effortlessly.
What this role really is
Youll be the person who:
Is visible, present, and leading every service setting the pace and the standard
Knows when to jump on the pass, when to greet a regular, and when the team needs backing
Builds a team thats tight, motivated, and proud of what they do
Keeps operations dialled inrota, costs, systems, standardsall running properly
Understands that great service is about people, not scripts
Drives the business forward without losing what makes it special
Wants to work closely with the founder who is involved in day-to-day operations

A strong operatoryouve run (or helped run) busy, quality-led restaurants
A natural host with real presence youre comfortable owning the room
Someone who leads by examplehands-on, sleeves rolled up, no ego
A proper people personyou build relationships with both guests and team
Commercially awareyou understand how service translates into performance
Someone who takes pride in standards, but doesnt make things feel stiff
What were not looking for
Someone who manages from the office
Someone overly corporate or process-heavy at the expense of personality
Someone who cant flex between relaxed daytime and premium service
