General Manager (Operations)

Full-time | South London-based | Salary dependent on experience Sauna Social Club is entering its next phase of growth, with the expansion of our existing sauna venue and the launch of a new private hire and community space. We are looking for a General Manager (Operations) to lead the operational delivery of the business’ two connected venues. This is a new role. The GM (operations) will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of both venues: managing staff, maintaining standards, building systems, and ensuring exceptional guest experience across the business. The founders will retain responsibility for overall financial strategy, marketing, and long-term growth direction. This role enables the founders to step back from daily operations, while remaining closely involved in strategic decisions. THE VENUES

You will oversee both sites as one integrated operation, managing shared staff, systems, and standards across the business. ESSENTIAL Senior Operational Leadership
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior hospitality or leisure management role. Demonstrable experience leading teams of 15+ staff. Proven experience holding full operational responsibility for a venue or complex site. Strong track record of building, developing and performance-managing teams. Confident handling accountability, performance conversations and maintaining standards. Experience operating within a founder-led or independent business.
Operational Systems & Structure
Strong systems mindset. Able to design, implement and refine operational processes. Experience managing compliance (H&S, licensing, risk assessments). Clear understanding of labour and stock cost control. Ability to deliver agreed revenue targets through operational excellence.
Personal Attributes
Calm, decisive and accountable under pressure. Hands‑on leadership style. Equally comfortable on the floor and in the office. Clear communicator with high standards and strong emotional intelligence. Aligned with SSC’s values of inclusivity, quality, care, integrity and creativity.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
Experience overseeing more than one operational area or complex venue. Experience supporting venue launch or expansion. Experience coordinating private hire or events operations. Understanding of music‑led or experience‑led hospitality spaces. Experience growing teams during periods of expansion. First Aid and/or safeguarding training. Interest in sauna culture and wellness environments.
