SALARY: £26,019 per annum (£12.83 per Hour) + Profit Share Bonus Scheme + Benefits
LOCATION: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Day Shift - 39 Hours per Week, 7am 4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am 12 noon Friday

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a General Operative / Brazer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing environment. The organisation specialises in high-specification components and precision assembly work within a modern production setting.
As a General Operative / Brazer you will carry out brazing, assembly, and general labouring duties, supporting production processes and ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met. You will also assist across different areas of the workshop as required.
The General Operative / Brazer role offers a varied workload, working with metal components, engineering drawings, and manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided for candidates looking to develop their skills.

DUTIES
Your duties as the General Operative / Brazer include:
Brazing Operations: Perform brazing on metal components in line with technical specifications
Material Preparation: Clean, prepare, and fit materials prior to brazing
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain brazing tools and machinery safely
Quality Inspection: Check finished components meet required standards and tolerances
Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
General Labouring: Support production with manual tasks and workshop assistance
Fettling and Deburring: Assist with finishing processes as required
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Cross-Functional Support: Provide cover across different areas of the manufacturing facility
Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, particularly within hot-work environments
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL:
Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or workshop environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
Ability to follow technical instructions and processes
Willingness to support multiple areas of production
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
DESIRABLE:
Experience in brazing or similar metalworking processes
Experience working with hot metal or heavy manufacturing environments
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Background in assembly, fabrication, or mechanical production
