The Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Geography Teacher to join a dynamic and forward-thinking department. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while contributing to a school community that values excellence in teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, challenging lessons in line with the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Geography curriculum.
  • Using a range of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners and support progress and attainment.
  • Regularly monitoring and assessing pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions where required.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues within the Geography department and across the wider school to enhance curriculum delivery and teaching practice.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a culture of high expectations.
  • Supporting the wider school ethos, including pupil wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Geography at secondary level.
  • Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Geography.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Be committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Take a proactive approach to professional development and collaborative working.
  • Have a strong understanding of assessment strategies and use data effectively to support pupil progress.
