Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer\n Location: Central London (with overseas projects)\n Salary: £35,000 - £45,000\n\nAre you a Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in site investigations and contractor-led projects, looking for opportunities to work both in the UK and abroad?\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established ground engineering contractor based in Central London. This role is heavily site-focused, offering hands-on involvement in ground investigations, supervision, and delivery of projects overseas alongside UK-based works.\n\nYou will work closely with drilling teams, subcontractors, and project managers, gaining exposure to a wide range of ground conditions and investigation techniques across international infrastructure and development projects.\n\nThe Role:\n\nAs the Geotechnical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:\n\nSupervising and managing site investigations in the UK and overseas\nOverseeing drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing (CPTs, trial pits, boreholes)\nLogging soil and rock to current standards\nCoordinating site teams, plant, and subcontractors\nLiaising with clients, engineers, and project managers on site\nContributing to factual and interpretative reporting where requiredAbout You:\n\nDegree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or similar\nExperience working for a ground investigation contractor or site-based consultancy\nStrong understanding of site investigation techniques and ground conditions\nConfident working independently on site\nWillingness to travel internationally for project workWhat's On Offer:\n\nCentral London base with option for overseas travel\nHands-on, site-led role with real responsibility\nLong-term career progression within a growing contractor\nSupportive team with strong technical and site experience\nCompetitive salary, travel expenses, and benefitsIf you're looking for a practical, site-heavy geotechnical role with the chance to work on international ground investigation projects, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career
