Responsibilities
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations, including site visits and data collection. * Conducting soil, rock, and groundwater analysis to assess site conditions. * Preparing technical reports, drawings, and documentation to support project delivery. * Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. * Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and health and safety protocols. * Supporting senior engineers in project management and client communication.
Qualifications
To be considered for the role of Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you should possess the following:
* A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline. * A strong understanding of geotechnical principles and practices. * Proficiency in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, GIS, or geotechnical analysis tools. * Based within a commutable distance to York * A proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving. * A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. * Eligibility to work in the UK and a valid driving license
Day-to-Day
Your daily activities as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will include:
* Conducting fieldwork and site investigations in and around York. * Analysing geotechnical data to inform design and construction decisions. * Preparing detailed reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders. * Attending project meetings and contributing to discussions on technical solutions. * Collaborating with colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. * Gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced engineers.
