The teams work with cutting-edge automation technology and smart software to give customers better visibility, control and performance across their operations.The Role We are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Standards Design Team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on engineering graduate who enjoys CAD, likes problem-solving and wants to build real-world design experience early in their career. At the start, you'll be helping the team review and standardise existing designs, looking at how products can be improved, simplified and made more cost-effective to stay competitive. From there, the role has plenty of room to grow, with opportunities to take on more responsibility and get involved in wider design and project work.Key Responsibilities - What You'll Be Doing
Using SolidWorks to support the design of conveyor systems and mechanical components
Creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings
Working with (and learning more about) parametric modelling to improve design efficiency
Helping maintain and develop standard design libraries, templates and best practices
Reviewing and updating existing designs in line with company standards and industry regulations
Working alongside senior engineers to improve performance, cost and manufacturability
Assisting with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
Taking part in design reviews and implementing feedback to improved designs
Supporting continuous improvement projects within the standards engineering team
What we are looking for
A recent graduate (or about to graduate) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Experience using SolidWorks through university projects, placements, or internships
A good understanding of engineering drawings and drawing standards
A curious, detail-focused mindset with a genuine interest in how things work
Willingness to learn and contribute to design improvement and standardisation
Nice to have (but not essential):
Experience with parametric modelling
Exposure to manufacturing, automation, or mechanical system design
The role is located in Nottingham and is full time working 40 hours a week with an immediate start. The salary bracket for this role is £27,000 - £28,000 per annum. This is a great chance to start your career with a company that's making a real difference.
