Whether you think in code, patterns, systems, or steps, your unique perspective is important to us.About the RoleWe are looking for a Graduate Systems Test Engineer to join our Engineering team at Blackbushe. This role sits within our Systems Test Team and offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, working on advanced subsea technologies used in offshore energy, ocean science, and maritime security.As part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to the testing and validation of complex systems, including both hardware and software. You will work closely with engineers across multiple disciplines, helping to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and usability.What Youll Be DoingPlan, develop, and execute system tests for a range of products and applicationsTest functionality, performance, usability, and stability of integrated systemsAnalyse technical specifications and translate them into effective test plansCarry out exploratory and release testing to identify potential issuesInvestigate, document, and track faults through to resolutionContribute to continuous improvement of product quality and testing processesCollaborate with software, hardware, and firmware teams across EngineeringProvide clear feedback through reports and team discussionsSupport trials and demonstrations at our Plymouth test and training facilityAssist with installation, testing, and customer support activities (onshore and offshore)Contribute to test estimates and project planning activitiesContinue to develop technical skills through training and on-the-job learningWhat Were Looking ForEssential:Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Ocean Science, Mathematics, or a related technical disciplineStrong problem-solving skills and a logical, methodical approachHigh level of attention to detailGood communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearlyA collaborative approach and willingness to work across teamsA strong interest in testing and understanding user needsCompetency in Microsoft Office tools, including ExcelFull UK driving licenceDesirable:Awareness of different testing methodologies (e.g. system, functional, exploratory, regression)Experience working with data sets and interpreting resultsFamiliarity with tools such as Jira or similar lifecycle management systemsSelf-motivated, organised, and adaptable approachInterest in continuous improvement and innovationAdditional InformationSome travel will be required, primarily within the UK, including visits to our Plymouth facilityOpportunities for offshore work and international travel may be availableOffshore training and medical clearance will be required for certain activitiesWhy Join Us?This is an opportunity to be part of a team working on cutting-edge subsea technologies with real-world impact.
