A thriving secondary school in Hackney is looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the English department and gain experience in the classroom before progressing to teacher training.

About the role:

Assisting in KS3 and KS4 English lessons, supporting a range of student abilities
Leading small reading and writing groups and catch-up interventions
Helping to prepare engaging resources and support creative writing tasks
Providing in-class support and occasional 1:1 mentoring
Supporting GCSE revision and encouraging strong written communication skillsAbout you:

Degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, or similar
Interest in a future teaching career (ideally 2026 or 2027)
Confident communicator and approachable classroom presence
Passionate about language, literature and learning
