Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well respected consultancy, in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their Sheffield office.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their planning career within a dynamic and growing consultancy. The successful Graduate Town Planner will gain hands-on experience working across a wide range of development projects, supporting clients through the planning process while developing strong technical and professional skills.

The Role

As a Graduate Town Planner, you will support senior members of the planning team on a variety of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You will gain valuable exposure to the full planning process, from site appraisal and research through to planning submission and determination.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications

Supporting site appraisals and development feasibility studies

Undertaking planning policy research and analysis

Drafting Planning Statements and supporting documentation

Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and external consultants

Supporting senior planners on project delivery

Maintaining organised project files and documentation

Candidate Requirements

Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related discipline

RTPI-accredited degree preferred

Strong interest in planning and development

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical and research abilities

A proactive and organised approach to work
