Graduates Teaching Assistants - SEN/Mainstream

New Yesterday

If you’re someone who enjoys helping others, stays calm under pressure, and wants a job that actually makes a difference, this could be a brilliant first step into education.

We’re working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. You’ll be supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them stay engaged, confident, and on track with their learning.

Some students may have Special Educational Needs (SEN), so any experience supporting SEN, whether in school, volunteering, coaching, or care work, would be a big plus.

What the role looks like

Your days will be varied, busy, and genuinely rewarding. You’ll be:

Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups

Helping pupils with SEN access learning in the classroom

Encouraging confidence, focus, and positive behaviour

Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupil progress

Being a positive role model in and around the school

The school is looking for someone who:

Has a degree (any subject)

Is confident, calm, and patient

Enjoys working with young people

Is proactive and motivated

Brings energy to the role, hobbies like sport, fitness, or coaching are a big bonus

Ideally has some experience supporting SEN, but a genuine interest goes a long way

Why this role is a great step for graduates

If you’re thinking about teaching, psychology, youth work, or educational support, this role gives you real hands-on experience in a school environment.

You’ll also benefit from:

School hours that fit around your lifestyle

School holidays off

The chance to build experience in education and SEN support

A role where you’ll genuinely see the impact you make each day

It’s one of those jobs where the small wins, a student understanding something new, gaining confidence, or simply having a better day, make it all worthwhile.

If you're looking for a meaningful role that helps shape young lives while building your own experience, this could be the perfect start.
