H9 Technical Recruitment are exclusively partnered with a Global Renewable Energy Company who develop, build and operate Solar PV and BESS projects across the world. We are looking to hire a Grid Connection Specialist to be responsible for the entire grid connection process with the TSO or DNO, from the grid connection request (G99) to the energy activation of the plants.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Manage HV or MV grid connection practices.
  • Manage DSO and TSO grid connection portals to identify available capacity at varying substations and identify free capacity at different interconnection points for ongoing project development.
  • Provide support for closing and signing of HV stall sharing agreement.
  • Provide support for closing and signing of connection agreement.
  • Provide support for closing and signing of operating regulation.
  • Engagement with DNOs and TSOs.
  • Work closely with the project development teams (solar and storage) and with the engineering team.
  • Interaction with external stakeholders to discuss technical solutions and define connection agreements.
  • Knowledge of the Energy Market and the revenue stacks associated to solar PV and stand-alone BESS installations, including ancillary service revenues and arbitrage across wholesale & balancing markets.


Skills and Qualifications:


  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HV or MV grid connection practices in the UK
  • Experience and sound understanding of the grid connection processes and UK Standards
  • Experience in using grid connection portals
  • Experience in the UK Energy market and deep understanding of the revenue stacks associated to solar PV & stand-alone BESS
  • Ability to create and manage grid connections till the activation of the plant
  • Fluency in English, other languages will be a plus.
  • Flexibility, interdisciplinary teamwork skills and willingness to travel when needed
