Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location: Bracknell
Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
Hours: Full-time 8am-5pm Monday to Friday (40 hours a week)
Driving Licence: Essential

Hays are currently recruiting for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to work on a large site in Bracknell. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and skilled operative with a strong background in landscaping and grounds maintenance.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of grounds maintenance and landscaping across the site, ensuring all external areas are maintained safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out all aspects of lawn care, including mowing, fertilising, moss control and reseeding
• Plant, shrub and tree maintenance, including planting, pruning, pest and insect control, and feeding
• Maintaining paved and decked areas through pressure washing, cleaning, algaecide treatment, sealing and oiling
• Completing soft landscaping duties such as turfing, planting flower beds and shrubs, mulching, barking, weed control, hedge trimming and strimming
• Operating and maintaining irrigation and water systems
• Safe operation and routine maintenance of tools and machinery, including mowers, blowers, hedge trimmers, long-arm trimmers, scarifiers, pressure washers and wood chippers
• Following written maintenance plans and schedules for weekly and seasonal tasks
• Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements, including the safe use of vehicles, equipment and machinery
• Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, including waste management regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience within grounds maintenance or landscaping
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, hardworking and detail-focused approach
