About the Company
Our client is a well-established residential groundworks contractor delivering high-quality groundwork packages for major housebuilders across the West Midlands. With a strong reputation for safety, quality, and reliable project delivery, they have built long-term relationships within the housing sector.
Due to continued success and growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support the delivery of multiple residential developments.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Quantity Surveyor with residential groundworks experience to join a reputable and expanding contractor. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of several groundworks projects, ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance from tender stage through to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations
Carry out take-offs and assist with preparation of tender submissions
Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients
Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow
Liaise closely with site management teams and clients to resolve commercial matters
Maintain accurate commercial documentation and records
Assist with commercial reporting and monthly financial reviews
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks or civil engineering
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
