Groundworks Site Manager – Freelance – Stevenage – Competitive Rate

We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworks Site Manager for a long-term freelance opportunity in Stevenage. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major project expected to run for 12 months, overseeing all aspects of groundworks from start to finish.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring all groundwork activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all groundwork activities on site

*

Coordinate subcontractors, plant, and labour

*

Ensure works are completed in line with programme and specifications

*

Maintain high standards of health & safety across site

*

Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives

*

Manage site documentation and reporting

Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Groundworks Site Manager

*

Strong background in all aspects of groundworks (drainage, foundations, externals, roads & infrastructure)

*

Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (preferred)

*

Strong organisational and leadership skills

*

Ability to manage programmes and subcontractors effectively
