An international European life insurance group is seeking a Group Compliance Manager to join its growing London based Risk & Compliance function.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to take a step up into a broader group-level role, working within a flat structure and reporting directly to the Group Head of Compliance. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, group governance, and complex multi-jurisdictional projects.


The Role

You will play a key role in embedding and enhancing the Group Compliance Framework across the organisation, supporting local compliance teams and influencing a strong culture of compliance during an exciting period of growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Group Head of Compliance in managing, maintaining and embedding the Group Compliance Framework
  • Lead group-wide regulatory monitoring and horizon scanning, ensuring timely communication and training on regulatory developments
  • Act as Chair of key compliance working groups, setting agendas, tracking actions and driving delivery
  • Support acquisition and integration activity, from due diligence through to implementation and post-integration monitoring
  • Partner closely with local compliance teams to ensure consistent application of policies, methodologies and tools
  • Lead and strengthen the Group Privacy framework, including intragroup data agreements and GDPR governance
  • Support financial crime compliance activities, including third-party and transaction due diligence
  • Prepare and support quarterly compliance reporting to senior management and Board committees
  • Assist with regulatory engagement, audits and ad-hoc compliance projects
  • Act as deputy to the Group Head of Compliance where required


About You

  • Strong generalist compliance experience ideally within life insurance/ pensions
  • Exposure to group-level compliance frameworks, regulatory change or multi-jurisdictional environments
  • Confident managing stakeholders across different geographies and seniority levels
  • Experience leading or contributing to compliance projects and strategic initiatives
  • Able to work independently, exercise sound judgement and know when to escalate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing for senior audiences
  • Working towards or holding a professional compliance qualification (desirable)
