Group Financial Accountant (Part-time)- Didcot (Hybrid)- £60,000-£70,000 Pro-Rata
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join our finance team on a permanent part-time basis. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to the integrity of consolidated financial statements under IFRS. You will play a key role in year-end processes, tax and VAT compliance, and external audit coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Consolidation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation under IFRS
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments
- Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
Statutory Reporting (IFRS)
- Lead preparation of year-end statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and disclosure requirements
- Support technical accounting treatments and complex IFRS issues as required
Tax & VAT
- Support preparation and review of corporate tax computations in coordination with advisors
- Oversee VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
- Assist with tax reconciliations and related reporting disclosures
Audit & Year-End Process
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors during year-end audits
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Resolve audit queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Support continuous improvement of year-end close processes
Financial Controls & Process Improvement
- Maintain strong financial controls across group reporting processes
- Identify and implement improvements to consolidation and reporting systems
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from senior management
Key Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Prior Experience in working within a Top 20 Accounting Firm
- Strong experience in group consolidations and IFRS reporting
- Solid understanding of UK tax and VAT compliance
- Proven experience supporting external audits and year-end processes
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while meeting deadlines
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a multi-entity or international group environment
- Exposure to finance transformation or systems implementation projects
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
