With ambitious plans and a supportive culture, the finance function plays a pivotal role in driving control, insight, and accountability across the group.How you'll make an impact As Financial Controller, you'll report directly to the Group Finance Director and take ownership of group-wide financial control, reporting, and compliance. You'll ensure the integrity of financial data across multiple entities, lead the audit process, and oversee the development of a high-performing finance team. Your focus will be on strengthening controls, driving process improvements, and delivering timely, accurate reporting that supports decision-making at senior level.Key responsibilities include:Leading the group balance sheet reconciliation process, resolving discrepancies and ensuring robust controlsPreparing consolidated quarterly management accounts and group reporting packsCoordinating the annual audit and producing statutory accounts under UK GAAP/FRS 102Reviewing VAT, PAYE and PSA submissions across the groupSupporting the budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with finance and operational teamsEmbedding and enhancing financial policies, procedures, and internal controlsManaging and mentoring a team of two, building capability and resilience within the finance functionChampioning continuous improvement in systems, reporting, and ledger integrityWhy our client is excited about you You're a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience in financial control, ideally gained in a group or multi-entity environment. You bring technical strength, a proactive mindset, and the ability to balance hands-on delivery with leadership responsibilities.You'll bring:A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit managementExperience producing consolidated accounts and ensuring compliance with accounting standardsDemonstrated ability to improve processes and strengthen controlsLeadership experience, with a track record of developing people and teamsExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across the businessWhat you'll get in return This Financial Controller role offers the chance to shape the financial control environment within a complex and growing organisation.
