Group Head of Data & AI

• PE-backed global consumer services group
• Location: London (hybrid, 2–3 days per week)
• Package: £180,000–£220,000 + c.30% bonus + LTIP

A global, PE-backed consumer services group is appointing a Group Head of Data & AI to lead the next stage of its data and AI journey. The business has built a solid data foundation over the past two years and is now looking for a senior leader to turn insight and AI into material commercial and operational impact.

This is a high-influence role for someone who can define what meaningful AI adoption looks like, move beyond dashboards, and guide the organisation through the right AI pilots - internally and across product and digital services. The role is fully confidential.

What you’ll do

• Own and evolve the Group-wide Data & AI strategy, aligning analytics, insight and AI to growth, enrolment and performance outcomes.
• Ensure data quality, governance and reporting are trusted and genuinely used by senior leaders.
• Lead and develop a team of around 10, empowering strong data scientists and analysts while setting clear direction and standards.
• Define and prioritise AI use cases, including internal tooling, decision support and new digital or app-led services.
• Act as a senior advisor to the CEO and leadership team on what AI to invest in, what to pilot, and what to avoid.
• Translate complex, multi-business data into clear insight around what attracts students, which programmes perform, and where to invest.

What I’m looking for:

• A senior data leader with experience building or scaling enterprise data functions in complex environments.
• Strong commercial instincts and a track record of using data and analytics to drive measurable outcomes.
• Hands-on enough to understand the detail, but senior and credible enough to operate at executive and PE stakeholder level.
• Practical experience shaping and delivering AI initiatives, with a clear view of hype versus value.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and setting direction where it doesn’t already exist.
