The Role:* Support the Grower Manager in all aspects of day-to-day growing on a large scale salad site* Gain hands-on experience in crop walking, irrigation management, pest and disease monitoring, and biological control * Use Priva systems to monitor climate, water use, EC, and pH, learning how to adjust conditions for optimal crop health* Assist with tunnel preparation and planting, including spacing, planting depth, and early-stage crop protection* Help maintain accurate growing records, spray logs, and traceability paperwork to ensure audit compliance* Carrying out watering, feeding, and general husbandry tasks* Helping maintain the growing environment across the glasshouse and poly tunnel areas* Gradually take on more responsibility in crop planning, quality assessment, and growing decisionsYou: Background or qualification in horticulture, ideally some experience in salad, or fruit and protected cropping.A basic understanding of plant biology, irrigation, pests, and disease management.Experience in collaborating with staff and managing a team.A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail If you hold spray certificates (PA1/PA6), you'll also be involved in applying biological controls and agrochemicals, but if not, training can be provided.JBRP1_UKTJ
