About the role:
Imperial College London is seeking 15 Receptionists to join our Guest Accommodation Operations Team during the summer vacation period at our South Kensington campus. In this role, you will help deliver a welcoming, efficient and high-quality reception service for guests staying in our halls of residence.
Working as part of a busy reception team, you will be one of the first points of contact for visitors, providing information, support and assistance throughout their stay. This is a fast-paced, customer-facing role that requires flexibility, a positive attitude and a commitment to excellent service.
What you would be doing:
You will support the day-to-day operation of the reception area, ensuring a smooth and professional check-in and check-out experience for guests. This includes allocating rooms, handling enquiries, providing information and ensuring reception areas are always well presented.
You will respond to guest queries and resolve issues where possible, escalating more complex situations when needed. The role also involves carrying out basic building checks, reporting maintenance issues or incidents, and supporting cash handling and administrative tasks in line with established procedures.
What we are looking for:
Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing role
A good command of verbal English and strong communication skills interacting with a wide range of people
Good customer services skill with positive and enthusiastic attitude
The ability to work within a team
The ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks
Good organisational and time management skills
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
The ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and shifts during the summer period
